Food
What type of food do we work for every day? Something that I have been working for is to pay my parents back for a car. I have also been working hard so I can have enough money to go out and do things with my friends. As you can tell by my last blog, I do plenty of working this summer and 80 percent of my money does not even see my bank account. It has been a very humbling and VERY hard process to understand but I'm realizing that none of my money is even mine. All of these things I just listed are material items that spoil. None of these things are bad in my opinion but the reality is each one will be gone one day and in all reality probably one day soon. Some of the things I do with my friends are done hours after I start. So there is no telling how long our material investments will last.
The Son of Man (Jesus) has given us eternal life as a gift. This is a food that does not spoil. As Christian we need to allow ourselves to invest time in feeding ourselves spiritually. I have recently realized that God is a lot more creative than we often allow Him to be. Maybe a "quiet time" isn't how you find spiritual food. Maybe its a prayer walk, maybe its music, maybe its just pure silence, or maybe its time in God's word. But whatever it is, we need to put more time into being satisfied with the food that endures eternal life.
Challenge: As you work to pay your bills or as you work to support yourselves remember you are ultimately working for God's kingdom, which should provide you with some peace and joy. Pray that God will have you see your employment as an opportunity to serve his Kingdom. I do not personally like working for the YMCA but I know God is using me and having me be a light in a very dark society.

Giving In!
Well, I've given in to blogging. I have lots of friends and family all over the world and since I happen to be in Austin, TX right now I have decided to start blogging.
This summer is the first summer since 2000 I have not been working at a Bible camp. It has been a very very hard change. I told my dad on the phone the other day, " I think I am addicted to Bible camp". I guess out of all the things I could get addicted too Bible Camp is not all that bad. Right now I am working at a YMCA adventure day camp. It is very very hard and not a lot of fun. It sounds fun but 90% of my role is supervising middle school students. The one thing I do like is I get about 35-39hr a week.
A church also has recently hired me to be their youth director. It is a new church plant in Bee Cave Texas that is very community focused. The experience is awesome for me because I am able to build the youth group from ground up. Would have never expected my first ministry job to be starting a youth group but God is definitely using me as well as teaching me.
I also deliver and sett up inflatable. This is just a side job that I do when I have time. I do not have much time but when I can find it I take advantage of it. Needless to say I am very busy and not exactly getting rest this summer. School is much easier than my summer has been but this summer has forced me to depend on God and His guidance in my life.
